Your primary technique for seeking your next position is your networking effort. Do not lose sight of the fact that your best opportunity may come from within your present company. Too often the grass looks greener elsewhere when a little effort may have brought positive results where you are known and respected.
Keep the following in mind:
- Contact members of your network within the guidelines you have set
- Set a structure to know how often to be in touch with each person(s) in your network
- Develop a list of names of those you’d like to add to you network
- Set specific goals for the number of network meetings per month you will schedule
