SETTING YOUR OWN PRIORITIES — AND MANAGING THEM

Just as it is important to set priorities in terms of your clients, it is critical to monitor and manage your own goals on an ongoing basis.  As companies become leaner, and markets more competitive, demands increase and priorities change. Ensuring that your goals are the correct ones and that you are on course to achieving them is more important than ever:

  • Record everything you need to accomplish
  • Systematically determine the order of priority
  • Spend time matching your time with your key priorities
  • Check to be sure you are working with the members of your team and not against them
  • Check to be sure what you are doing is consistent with what your boss is trying to accomplish
