SUCCESS IS ALL ABOUT EXECUTION

Execution is what must happen between setting a direction and results. It is concerned with attaining a balance between people, strategy and operations.  As with so much else, getting the right people in the right job is the most important piece of the puzzle.

Keep the following in mind:

  • Get the right people in the right jobs
  • Make sure that everyone understands the strategy, what they do, and how their contribution affects the success of the venture
  • Define the critical issues that must be dealt with for the strategy to be successful
  • Set goals that are stretch, but achievable
  • Use the resources where you will gain the most benefit
  • Set clear, specific actions with measurable results and timeframes
  • Follow up at regular intervals
  • Constantly evaluate, talk about what is happening and make necessary changes
  • Get onto the work floor so you can see who is producing for yourself
  • Pay the producers
